WHO's latest tally

The World Health Organization has promptly posted its latest Cumulative Number of Confirmed Human Cases of Avian Influenza A/(H5N1).

The world total is now 258 cases with 153 deaths, for a case fatality ratio of 59 percent. For Indonesia it's 74 cases with 56 deaths, for a CFR of 75 percent. The Indonesians have recently attributed their high numbers to slow diagnosis and treatment, but I haven't seen an outside confirmation of this analysis.
