World Food Programme To Distribute Aid To North Korea Flood Victims

The World Food Programme confirmed today that the DemocraticPeople's Republic of Korea (DPRK) had agreed to accept assistance forvictims of recent flooding in the country. The United Nations agency alsopledged to promptly consider any requests from the government foradditional support. Some 13,000 residents of Songchon county in South Phyongan province are toreceive 30-day rations of wheat flour and enriched vegetable oil amountingto 150 metric tons. [click link for full article]
